Qnovo Wins Prestigious R&D 100 Award for SpectralX Intelligent Lithium-ion Battery Management Software

Qnovo, the market leader in enabling software defined batteries, today announced that it is a winner of the 2023 R&D 100 Awards for its SpectralX© e-mobility software. The R&D 100 Awards are renowned worldwide science and innovation competition, celebrating its 61st year. A team of 45 industry professionals joined the judging panel to select submissions from 15 different countries and regions. Qnovo’s award within the Software and Services category is a testament to the Company’s commitment to balancing research with development to bring highly demanded products to the automotive market.

Qnovo’s SpectralX is a significant technological breakthrough that improves the performance and lifespan of lithium-ion batteries. The software is being used by a variety of customers, including electric vehicle manufacturers, battery manufacturers and energy storage companies.

According to new research by global technology intelligence firm ABI Research, “Advanced Battery Management System (BMS) software could save automakers US$18 billion annually in 2030, equivalent to US$76 billion cumulatively from 2024. This reduces the cost to OEMs of manufacturing EVs, helping them to mitigate the effects of limited battery production and achieve profitability.” Qnovo was cited within this research, as SpectralX software can dramatically scale electrified mobility globally.
